I’m excited to join this the Writing Process Blog Tour, so that we can get to know each other! As a new blogger, it’s a bit intimidating, but the time is right. I’ll post a blog every other week, and look forward to sharing health, wellness and sanity information for moms.
As great karma happens, Jen Blumenthal from Whole Being Balance came into my life at an interesting time, and keeps popping in to inspire me in timely and surprising ways, including passing me the torch to the blog tour, check it out here.
In the spirit of the Blog Tour, here are the answers to the questions you are probably dying to know about me!
What am I working on?
As the Health, Wellness and Sanity Coach for Moms, I’m gearing up to blog every other week about how moms have a choice in the way they show up in their lives. At the foundation of what I do, it all comes down to the thoughts we choose. I hear moms say all the time that their kids come first, their jobs come first and they put themselves at the bottom of the totem pole. It doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, it shouldn’t be that way! Kids learn to self-respect and confidence from moms who model that behavior. Taking care of yourself is a great way to show up as a more confident, loving and happy mom.
Creating an online community for moms to face the challenges of parenting through the ages and stages of parenting is an exciting project that I’ll be launching this summer. Helping moms to make confident choices in their lives, health and wellness, parenting and relationships is really effective through the group dynamics. I hope you’ll join us!
How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Confident Moms | Confident Kids Coaching is based on the premise that bringing up confident, resilient and compassionate children requires that we model these behaviors ourselves. The children are always watching. When we treat ourselves with kindness, compassion and healthy boundaries, we send the message to our children to do the same. Being a great role model for your children is a priceless gift for you and your family. We have a choice in how we show up every day, and I help women choose to show up with confidence and authenticity
Why do I write what I do?
I’m passionate about helping moms step up into their confidence. There’s lots of guilt about all the things we “should” do as moms. Friends, families, partners, teachers and the media all have messages about what we should do. I help moms get past the “shoulds” and decide for themselves what works for them. Juggling careers, kids and relationships, wondering how to make everyone else happy can be overwhelming. I guide moms to get rid of the guilt, and to look deeply inside to understand what their best decisions might be. When moms understand and learn to listen to their own inner compass, they will make the choices that are uniquely best for them.
How does my writing process work?
I’m a list person, and keep a running list of ideas to blog about. The perfectionist in me has made it hard to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and accept that what I’ve written doesn’t need 50 rewrites. My new writing process is to join this blog tour, and to do it imperfectly! Here I go! I’d love to have you join my email list and let me know what’s on our mind. What are your biggest challenges and joys as a mom?
